1. Dual-Nature Service Distinction
The New Mexico 6-Minute Lawyer is a dual-capability platform operated by a licensed attorney in the State of New Mexico. The Platform combines automated software productivity tools ("Software Services") with limited-scope human legal consultations ("Triage Services"). Your rights and the nature of your relationship with the Platform differ depending on which service you are utilizing.
2. Triage Services (Text/Email Legal Advice)
Limited-Scope Representation: An attorney-client relationship is established strictly and exclusively for the duration of a paid "6-Minute Triage" inquiry. This representation is explicitly "limited-scope" in nature under New Mexico Rule of Professional Conduct 16-102(C). The service name does not describe a per-minute charge; personal inquiries are priced per initial question.
Scope of Service: The scope of this representation is strictly confined to reviewing the discrete facts submitted via your text or email inquiry and providing a preliminary evaluation, basic statutory guidance, or general strategic next steps.
Exclusions from Representation: This limited-scope fee does NOT oblige The New Mexico 6-Minute Lawyer to represent you in court, draft comprehensive litigation pleadings, negotiate with adverse parties, or conduct ongoing monitoring of your legal matter. If your matter requires comprehensive representation, you must enter into a separate, formal written engagement agreement with this firm or another licensed attorney.
3. Jurisdiction and State-Specific Limitations
The Triage Services and legal guidance delivered through this Platform are formulated strictly and exclusively under the laws of the State of New Mexico.
The Platform is intended solely for individuals residing in New Mexico or business entities organized or operating under New Mexico law.
If your legal issue involves property, businesses, or disputes outside of New Mexico, the Platform cannot provide legal advice, and you must seek counsel licensed in the appropriate jurisdiction.
4. Data Privacy, Encryption, and Security
We use security measures to help safeguard your uploaded documents, personal communications, and consultation data. However, no digital transmission or storage method is completely secure. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks of digital data storage and electronic communication.
Fees and Inquiry Limits
Complicated questions, or matters that require applying your specific facts to the law, take more time. For those, submit your request and the firm provides a free, no-obligation quote on the estimated time required. That quote stage does not include personalized legal advice, does not establish an attorney-client relationship, and collects no payment. No paid work begins until you approve the quoted fee.
Personal questions are $39 per inquiry. Each fee covers only the initial, discrete question submitted, not an ongoing conversation or additional legal matters. Your fee is quoted before work begins. Any separate inquiry or further work is quoted separately before proceeding.
Small-business questions are $49 for up to twenty minutes, with additional fees for additional time. We do not bill by the hour and do not require retainers.
For paid personal and business inquiries, payment is collected at checkout after you accept these terms and submit your question. Submitting a question or request does not, by itself, establish an attorney-client relationship. paid triage services are limited to the specific inquiry as described above.
The flat fees above cover simple legal questions. Matters that require applying your specific facts to the law may take more time to analyze. For those, the firm reviews the matter and provides a quote before any paid work begins; no payment is collected to request a quote, and no paid work starts until you approve the quoted fee.
